League

Program Overview

The main objective of the Dakota United Soccer Club (DUSC) Recreation League is to provide all children, regardless of experience, with the opportunity to learn more about soccer and develop the basic skills needed to play. We emphasize that learning is more important than winning.

Age Groups

  • Offered to Pre-K (must be 4 years old at time of registration) through 6th grade
  • 6th grade girls – Fall session only
  • 6th grade boys – Spring session only

Session Details

  • Fall League: Early September through mid-October
  • Spring League: Mid-April through mid-May
  • Each session includes 6 games over 6 weeks, weather permitting
  • Games: Saturdays, 9 AM – 4 PM; Sundays, 12 PM – 7 PM (as needed)
  • Location: Cottonwood Soccer Complex (South 12th Street)

Practices

  • Held once per week at a local elementary school or Cottonwood
  • Practice day/time/location chosen by the volunteer coach
  • Practice schedules become available approximately 2 weeks before games begin

Volunteer Coaches

  • All coaches are volunteers: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc.
  • All must be SafeSport certified and pass a background check
  • SafeSport certification: ~3 hours initially, then 30 minutes annually
  • Background check: ~5 minutes

Player Information

  • Registration includes a team t-shirt
  • Teams are formed by gender, grade, and school
  • Required equipment: shin guards and a water bottle
  • Soccer balls are not required but welcome
  • Team photos will be offered

  • No refunds after registration

2025 Fall League

Registration & Cost

  • Registration closes: July 26
  • Cost: $70 + applicable fees
  • Sibling discount: $10 off 2nd child, $20 off 3rd child; max $20 per child
  • All children must be registered together to receive discount — no post-registration refunds for this.

Schedule

  • Teams announced: August 6 (planned)
  • Equipment handout: August 20 (tentative)
  • Practices begin: September 1
  • Games: Saturdays, September 6 – October 11

Game & Practice Info

  • Games: Saturdays 9 AM – 4 PM; Sundays used as needed
  • Practice schedules released ~2 weeks before games
  • Game times released ~1 week before games
  • Players are placed with kids in their school and grade
  • No need to confirm team placement if school and grade are entered correctly during registration

6th Grade Participation

  • 6th grade girls: Fall only
  • 6th grade boys: Not eligible for Fall — encouraged to register in Spring

No Waitlist

There is NO waitlist. No late registrations will be accepted. Register early to avoid missing out!


2026 Spring League
